Project Background

The HKU Summer Institute needed professional digital solution to enhance the program experience for exchange students while improving administrative efficiency and control for staff members. The reliance on paper-based administrative tasks was deemed ineffective in terms of user-friendliness and sustainability. Furthermore, the lack of HKD currency among arriving students presented a challenge for on-campus shopping. Therefore, the implementation of an electronic payment system was seen as a pivotal improvement to enhance the overall quality of life for students.

The app was developed to assist students during their stay in Hong Kong, providing a user-friendly platform to manage their daily activities. It serves as a calendar, displaying the schedule of activities and classes for each day. Additionally, students can conveniently handle tasks such as booking halls or hotels through the app, allowing for seamless transactions. QR codes are integrated into the app to automate previously manual processes, including event check-ins and accommodation check-ins, reducing staff workload and enhancing the overall experience for students.
